Soulseer
Legends tell of a group of warriors who have mastered an art of fighting that transcends the boundaries of time and space. By entering a trance like state of meditation, they move without hesitation and strike without thought, able to predict and react to attacks before they even begin. These are the soulseers, masters of perception who tune their senses in a fashion that allows them a far greater view of all things around them, seeing that which cannot be seen, and striking without fail against their foes. Acumen Trance(Ex): A Soulseer fights by entering a focal state of meditation known as an Acumen Trance, which greatly enhances their perception of the battlefield. Starting at 1st level, a Soulseer can enter a trance a number of rounds per day equal to 4+ their Wisdom modifier. Temporary increases to Wisdom, such as those gained from spells like Owl's Wisdom, do not increase the total number of rounds that a soulseer can be in a trance per day. Entering and exiting a Trance is a free action. The total number of rounds a Soulseer can maintain a trance is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours do not need to be consecutive.
While in a trance, the Soulseer gains a number of abilities, many of which are gained from further leveling:
No Emotion: Beginning at 1st level, a Soulseer enters a state of focused emotion, unhindered by anything that may change their disposition. A Soulseer in an Acumen Trance automatically resists any fear effects, or any other mind-effecting or compulsion effects related to emotion, such as the Calm Emotions or Rage spells. This is not a blank state, but rather a focused existing state, and thus cannot be used to end any such effect already in place on the Soulseer. In addition, they can choose to add their Wisdom modifier in place of their normal modifiers on any skill checks.
Swift Perception: Also at 1st level, a Soulseer in an Acumen Trance may take 10 on perception checks as a free action, and the range at which they can perceive without penalty is doubled. For example, a normal Perception check has a DC modifier of +1/10 feet, while a Soulseer in an Acumen Trance instead has a modifier of +1/20 feet.
No Mind: Starting at 2nd level, a Soulseer further blanks their mind, entering a state of pure focus. A Soulseer of 2nd level in an Acumen Trance automatically resists any mind-effecting or compulsion spells or effects, and gains a bonus to Will saves equal to their Soulseer level. In Addition, they may add their Wisdom score to their land speed as a swift action, rounded down to the nearest 5.
Danger Sense: Also at 2nd level, a Soulseer in an Acumen Trance may take 15 on perception checks as a free action, and the range at which they can perceive without penalty is tripled. In addition, they gain a bonus to Reflex saves equal to their Soulseer level.
No Thought: Starting at 3rd level, a Soulseer enters a state completely without thought, focused totally on the battlefield around them. A Soulseer in an Acumen Trance adds their Wisdom modifier to attack rolls, damage rolls, CMB and CMD. In addition, they gain a bonus to Fortitude saves equal to their Soulseer level.
Precognition: At 3rd level, a Soulseer's perception begins to see beyond the normal realms of time and space, able to perceive small glimpses of the future and react accordingly. A Soulseer in an Acumen Trance is never considered distracted and may take 20 on perception checks as a free action. The range at which they perceive without penalty is also quadrupled, to a DC modifier of +1/40 feet, while the DC for perceiving through a closed door becomes +2, and for perceiving through a wall becomes +5/foot of thickness. In addition, they add their Wisdom modifier to Initiative checks.
